It is lots of fun to make gifts. I have been doing this since I was a child. My husband and three children also enjoy making gifts. There is something very satisfying when you are inspired to create something for someone you love. I would imagine, God enjoyed creating the world for us to enjoy. He probably sat back when he was finished and admired how everything turned out.
When I give a gift, I am showing someone I love them. When I make the gift, I am taking more time to pour love into the process of planning and creating for that special person. This Christmas I would like to share one homemade gift which can be duplicated throughout the winter. It can be a gift for any occasion.
I will be showing you how to make and package “Snowman Soup”. I will show you pictures of some of the process, give you a materials list and instructions. Please use my design to make your own creative expressions. I would love to see what you come up with, so please share it with me!
This project originated from a post on Splitcoast Stampers over 10 years ago. I have adapted it as I would encourage you to do as well. Add your own creativity to it.
Many times I have seen a project and think, “I don’t have all the equipment to make this, so I tend to dismiss it.” Now I look at potential projects and think, I may not have everything listed, but I can improvise and make it with my own flare.
So without further adieu, here is the project.

Poem
Was told you've been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it.
With freezing weather drawing near.
You'll need to warm the spirit.
So here's a little snowman soup.
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
It's sure to do the trick.

Part 2
Stamp SNOWMAN word onto large white cardstock you cut previously. Leave a space for the O if you use the picture of the snowman for the O.
Glue or tape blue cardstock you cut previously.
Stamp SOUP word on small white cardstock you previously cut.
Tape or glue white cardstock to red.
Optional- stamp snowflakes in red and green on the poem. (I used the snowflakes from Two-Step Stampin-Shapes and Shadows.
Stamp Snowman's hat, head, face, nose and scarf. ( I used scrapes of the whisper white cardstock and stamped the hat, head with face, nose and scarf separately and cut them out. (If the ink is missing in spots you can go back over it with colored pencil.
Take each piece of the snowman and glue or tape it where the O would be in the word-SNOWMAN.
Optional Step- I used versamark to stamp itty bitty backgrounds on the white cardstock with the word, snowman. Then I sprinkled with glitter and used a heat gun to give it a sparkly finish.
Take the cut out poem and tape or glue it to the Navy cardstock.
Cut ribbon or twine about 10" strips.
Hole punch in the poem and in the word soup.
Tie a ribbon through the two holes and tie with a bow. I stapled this to the snowman piece. (You can do this anyway which works for you).
Part 3
Getting Ingredients Ready
Take large cellophane bags and place hot chocolate packets inside.
Next put in a candy cane. (I purchase candy canes in a cellophane wrapping.
Take the small cellophane bag and with gloves on, put in about 1/3 cup marshmallows.
Seal small bag and place inside large bag with hot chocolate mix and candy cane.
Seal large bag. (I put a staple in it to seal).
Last, staple your snowman message with the soup message and poem to the bag.
